Our Story
Big River Builders was founded by Steven Kinnie, a northern Michigan builder with over 20 years of hands-on residential construction experience. Steven started the company because he truly loves to build. He takes immense pride in all the work that he does.
It’s truly a family operation. Steven is hands-on with every build, working directly with clients and overseeing each project from the ground up. Behind the scenes, his wife, Helen, handles the administration, billing, invoicing, and everything else that keeps the business running smoothly.
When you work with Big River Builders, you work directly with the Kinnie family — not a project manager or a sales rep. Our name and reputation are on the line with every project we take on, and that's exactly how we want it.
